PIECEWORK TRACKING
Piecework tracking in construction — hourly and piece pay in one payroll
Many construction companies pay part of the work by the hour and part by the piece. In ConSiteLog a task can have an hourly rate, a piece rate or both. Workers enter the quantities they completed, the manager approves them and payroll shows everything together.
No payment card needed to start.
How does it work?
- The manager sets a unit (e.g. m², m, pcs) and a piece rate on the task
- Optionally sets a total volume that cannot be exceeded
- The worker enters the quantity in the task view or when ending the workday
- The manager approves or rejects the quantity
- Payroll adds approved piecework and hours for the period
Why it beats a spreadsheet
- Quantities are tied to worker, site and date
- Volume limits prevent over-reporting
- Every change is kept in the history
- Rates are saved — a later price change does not alter past entries
- Hourly pay continues on days outside the piecework period
Hourly and piecework at the same time
The same worker can do hourly work one day and piecework the next — or both on the same task. Payroll shows both as separate lines and in total.
Who is it for?
Tilers, plasterers, facade and roofing crews, installers and any work where pay depends on volume. Workers see their quantities and pay on their phone in four languages.
Questions and answers
How does piecework tracking work in ConSiteLog?
The manager sets a unit and piece rate on the task. The worker enters the quantity done, the manager approves it and payroll calculates the pay automatically together with hourly work.
Can the same worker do both hourly and piecework?
Yes. A task can have an hourly rate, a piece rate or both, and payroll shows both together.
What if a worker enters too large a quantity?
If the task has a total volume, more than that cannot be entered. In addition, the manager approves every quantity before it goes into payroll.
Are changes visible?
Yes. Changes to quantities and rates are kept in the history with the date and who made them.
What does it cost?
Piecework is included in the price: 60 days free, then €7.99 per user per month + VAT.
